Babies’ skin is soft, sensitive and very moisturizing. The plastic sensor window in the Smart Sock is located in an airtight area because plastic does not absorb moisture like fabric. For newborns, they may form “blisters” in this area. These spots are also very superficial and can be reabsorbed throughout the day. Sometimes, when the Smart Sock 3 sensor is not cleaned frequently enough, especially when it is not cleaned at all, we will see red marks on the baby’s feet. It may feel strange to put electronic equipment under running water, but the sensor is specifically designed for regular cleaning. If not washed properly, dirt and grease can accumulate in the fabric. As a result, the soft fabric can no longer absorb excess water. When damp or dirty fabrics are attached to the sensitive skin of babies for a long time, redness and irritation can occur.

The weight limit of Smart Sock 3 is approximately 30 pounds. Since every baby has a different foot, some babies can grow Smart Sock faster than others based on the roundness of their feet.

Make sure your sock placement and fabric sock size are correct, and rotate the sock from one foot to the other every night.

Pay attention to moisture

We recommend putting the Sock on clean, dry feet and do not use any ointments or creams. Due to the sensor component, our smart socks do not absorb moisture like other socks. If moisture accumulates, it will irritate the baby’s skin, similar to diaper rash.

If your child is prone to sweating or clammy feet while sleeping, we recommend ensuring a comfortable sleeping temperature (breathable pajamas, fan in the room, etc.) and limiting the time they wear Smart Sock.

Pay attention to exercise

If your baby looks uncomfortable because of teething, colic or just likes to move, then the constant movement will cause the Smart Sock to generate enough friction to form hot spots on their feet. If the skin is sufficiently stimulated, these hot spots can quickly develop into blisters. It’s like someone breaks a new pair of shoes, and the shoes do not match the feet. This can cause repeated friction and irritation.

If there are marks, Baby’s skin needs time to heal. Put their feet on the marked areas and do not put on the socks again until the marks disappear. Apply a barrier cream containing petroleum jelly or similar several times during the day to help support the healing skin. After the mark disappears, you can put the Smart Sock 3 back on that side to make sure the size and position are correct.
